Supported jointly by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) and Northwell Health, the Liu Lab works at the intersection of fundamental discovery and clinical translation in a uniquely collaborative research environment.
CSHL's NCI-designated Cancer Center brings exceptional strengths in fundamental cancer biology, genetics, and advanced experimental technologies, while Northwell connects discovery science with clinicians, diverse clinical communities, biospecimens, and cancer research. Embedded within this ecosystem, our lab can move bidirectionally between clinical insight and mechanistic discovery—bringing observations from human disease into experimentally tractable systems and translating fundamental discoveries back toward human health.
For trainees and collaborators, this creates opportunities to tackle ambitious questions across biological scales and disciplines, integrating genetics, model organisms, computation, metabolism, and human biology.
